MY STORY

Shandra Wilkerson - LCSW-C, LICSW

Founder & CEO, Breathe Again Counseling Center

I’m Shandra, a wife, mom to three beautiful daughters, fur-baby lover, avid runner, and a psychotherapist who has spent the last 20 years walking beside individuals, families, and communities through seasons of pain, healing, and transformation. I’ve worked in behavioral health in many capacities, and each role shaped my belief that people deserve spaces where they can breathe, rest, and be seen without judgment.

Breathe Again Counseling Center was born in 2020, at a moment when the world was hurting. After nearly two decades in behavioral health, I felt called to create a space centered on healing, purpose, and community. During a time of deep racial unrest, the words “I can’t breathe” echoed something I could not ignore. They became a reminder of how many of us move through life holding our breath, emotionally, generationally, and collectively.

Breathe Again Counseling Center was created to help people find their breath again, to exhale, release, and reclaim parts of themselves they’ve had to silence to survive. My work is grounded in relational connection, cultural responsiveness, and creating a safe space where healing can unfold at your pace.
